The artist is Brodsky
Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin) (April 22, 1870, Simbirsk-January 21, 1924, Horki estate, Moscow province)-Russian and Soviet political and statesman, revolutionary, creator of the Russian Social Democratic Party (Bolsheviks) (B. )), one of the organizers and leaders of the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia, the chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars (Government) of the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic), the creator of the first in world history of the socialist state. Marxist, publicist, founder of Marxism-Leninism, ideologist and creator of the third (communist) international, founder of the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics).
Isaac Brodsky created an extensive gallery of images in. AND. Lenin. They were based on memories and field sketches. The artist saw Lenin speaking at rallies in 1918 and painted him at meetings of the II Congress of the Comintern (1920). Many of Lenin’s portraits made by Brodsky were repeatedly copied and reproduced by millions of circulations, but this picture was recognized as unsuccessful and was not known to the general public. The expressive angle of the figure seemed unprofitable for the image of the leader-a comparison with a large massif of the sky with a stylized pattern of clouds, reminiscent of the images of symbolist artists seemed too. However, it is these “mistakes” of the artist that take the work to the canon, give it ambiguity and make it interesting for our time.
