The artist is Lizak
Since the beginning of the 1930s, each painter has been expected a large picture associated with the successes of socialist construction. In 1934, by the first exhibition of Leningrad artists, Lizak received an order of the Leningrad City Council for a picture on an industrial topic. Working in the workshops of the Baltic Plant and the Krasny Vyborzhets plant, Lizak wrote portraits of drummers – Stalevarov and Kuznetsov – and interiors of the workshops of factories. The picture was never written, but numerous studies for it, including a portrait of the blacksmith Petran, are perceived by completely finished works.
